wine-corks-still-life-iv-tom-mc-nemarArgentina is hot!  And this June, we are jumping in head first for our upcoming wine dinner!  The wines being produced across the 1800 miles North to South in Argentina are stylistically ripe, fresh, and a true reflection of Argentina’s terroir.  These wines are great for any occasion, but we think they are best served with 5 courses at Emilio’s!

Argentina is the 5th largest producer of wine in the world with its wine growing roots in the old world thanks to the Spanish colonization of the Americas beginning in 1557.  Bringing grapes to Argentina planted the seed for the country to grow into the mega wine producing region it is today.  And with hots days and cool summer nights, the conditions are great for locking in that perfect balance of ripeness and acidity.

We have chosen wines from 3 vineyards spread across Mendoza and Patagonia.  Mendoza, centrally located in Argentina, is famously known for its Malbec and its high altitude growing condition in the Andes.  Patagonia is the southernmost wine growing region in Argentina and is producing elegant, flavorful wine with matchless aromatic intensity.  With as much Argentine wine that is available to us in the US, it is hard to believe that the country consumes 90% of the wine it produces, but the Argentine people know a good thing when they taste it!  So we are bringing it to you this June.  We hope you will join us for this delicious event!
